The RYA Day Skipper course is the minimum requirement for chartering a Yacht; many bare boat charter companies are clamping down due to increased insurance premiums, and many marinas in Spain and France are checking qualifications before allowing you to enter. It has now, however, never been easier to achieve your Day Skipper course in just 9 days with just one week off work. Courses run every week for individuals and it is also possible to combine your training with a holiday, by chartering the whole yacht with an instructor, as many of our clients from 2012 have done. This has a massive advantage in that you can all practice handling the yacht as a team and see if it’s something everyone enjoys, plus you know who you will be sailing with!
